No matter our age or circumstances, we are at our best when we connect with others to share friendship, laughter, support and a sense of community. For 30 years the Center has been a cornerstone of our community, serving the needs of those 50 and older.
Like many organizations, we have also been challenged financially this year. As a non-profit,501(c)(3) organization, sixty percent of our operational budget comes from fundraising and donations from the community. We had to make the difficult decision to cancel our three largest fundraisers this year (Kennebunk Beach Classic 5K Road Race, Affairs to Remember Auction and Coastal Kitchen Tour). While we have taken aggressive steps to manage expenses, the result is that our Annual Appeal is much more critical this year.
We have set a goal of $25,000. We are very pleased to announce that both Kennebunk Savings Bank and Kennebunk Beach Realty have pledged $2500 each in matching gifts, meaning your donation will go even further!
We are very grateful for their support, and yours, through these challenging times. Please click the button below to donate.
A big thank you to our members and our community for supporting our $30 for 30 donation drive! With your generosity we were able to achieve 75% of our goal of $10,000. Your support allows us to continue to offer our services to the seniors in our communities.
The Center is reopening to the public on June 22nd, with limited in-person programming available. Among other changes in our procedures, preregistration is now required for any in-person programming you plan to attend. Please CLICK HERE to read our new procedures, safety policies, and available and unavailable programming. The FISH Medical Rides Program remains suspended until further notice.
We miss having you at the Center – seeing your faces, hearing your laughter or soaking up the peaceful energy from our yoga and tai chi practitioners!
Based on the current status of the Coronavirus crisis, we are going to extend the temporary closure of the Center through mid-June. We are extending the temporary hold on the execution of our FISH medical ride program until further notice.
The health and safety of our members, volunteers, and staff continues to be our 1st priority. We are continuing to follow the recommendations from the CDC, state and local health authorities regarding the precautions to take to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus.
The Center staff will continue to work remotely for the duration of the closure. Our focus will be on expanding virtual access to some of our programming like our Chair Yoga classes, Tai Chi and more. We are testing virtual access to the programs each week during the temporary closure and will keep you informed as new classes or programs become available.
We are reviewing the information as it becomes available from Governor Mills, the Maine CDC and the towns of Kennebunk, Kennbunkport and Arundel to help us determine when and how we will re-open. Your safety continues to be our highest priority.
